Hello viewers,since I'm in my time off before i start my master class,i got a lot of time to update my blog,soo here we go..

I used to work with Citibank under the Mutual Fund team for about 4 months until at February I resigned from the job to continue my study. In my farewell speech i told my colleagues that working with Citibank is one of my dreams,and its true,until now..even when the MD case and also the violence case that happened last month, I still think that these case cannot be taken as a conclusion of what Citibank is all about. In my 4 months experience,I understand that in my division we are running with a strict policies and procedures,no compromise or shortcut,because we understand that we have become one of the best multinational banks in the world so we have to maintain a high degree of security and policies in order to become a better faster stronger bank in the future.

Okey..huah..I'm sorry if I seemed like I try to defense citibank..
lets get back to the topic,shall we..
Ever since I resigned from Citibank,I am still keeping my relationship with my friends there in Plaza Bapindo, They've been very supportive with what I am doing,and I really appreciate the lessons that they gave to me even when I am no longer an employee there. The story goes when in one afternoon Mba Zara text me on my blackberry, "Hey Ji, We are having a short trip to Puncak on April,do you want to come and join?",I asked "When would it be mba?,I have to check it with my campus calendar","It will be on 22nd of April,and we are only staying for one night", after i checked my campus calendar, end of April is holiday,so I answered "YES! I'm in mba,just tell me what i can do to help.". As usual i get the task to become the photographer for the event,and plus i will drive my car too,so I guess its gonna be an interesting ride.

*press fast forward to 22nd of April 08.00 am

I went to the checkpoint numero uno which was Plaza Bapindo,I was told to not to be late and when i showed up...its only 2 person there Mas Hie and Shinta (Shiru). As we joking around then one by one people started to showed up..until I met new friend Vina who replace my position and also Mas Kiki a former citi employer and now he's working as finance consultant specialized in Transfer Pricing for Ernst and Young,and he's the one who owned the villa (wohoo)..

Okay,time to go,but even when we gonna took off,a confusion came along,we were thinking about using three cars only,leaving Mas Hie's car at the office,when we already fixed with 3 cars,suddenly we misscalculated the participants,so after long minutes of discussion,Mas Hie straight grabbed his key and brought his car back..and finally we took off from Bapindo around 09.10 am.

We went by having convoy with three cars,and we entered the highway,it went messed up,hahaha...
by the way,I got 2 persons in my car which are Mba Eni and Shinta,and none of us knew about how to get to puncak, and in front of us is Mas Hie. The first car was Mas Kiki's car,and I guess his driver Mas Maman just overlooked me and Hie's cars and just went left right through the traffic..this was the start of the roller coaster ride..I have to keep up with Hie's car until I almost hit the car in front of me..Shinta and Mba Eni was shocked "AJIII!!!!" they both scream,and I just can't breath at that time..Shinta was about to get some sleep,and after that her eyes were wide open!,sorry ya shinta :)

As the convoy leader,Mba Yuyun told us to stop by in the rest area,and none of the people in my car were read this message,hehehe..so I just straight up went to the Puncak highway,Mas Hie called me,"Jie,dont we supposed to stop by?,don't you got the message?", I am like,"Waah,I forgot to read the message,but we can stop by at Safari Hotel later", and we continued our journey up there. During the traffic, there were a lot of locals that gave me this hand signs that the road to puncak was closed and they can showed us the way to went there. Just to let y'all know,they try to play us! hahaha got ya!,earlier on the highway road,the police had this poster said that "THERE WILL BE NO CLOSE OR OPEN TIME FOR THE ROAD TO AND FROM PUNCAK".

To make the story short,we arrived at the Checkpoint 2, Safari Hotel.

We arrived there and we look around the hotel, its actually a big size resorts,they got everything there from waterpark,to meeting rooms,basketball court,you name it they got it. Not long after that,we have to left again to the villa. Not far from the villa,the road was getting harder to passed,its like a multi-hard-level game,I guess I earned 2 Gold Star on my driving skills from this journey,so did Hie and Hakeem. I cannot show you the picture since I was handling my car like a pro to conquer the road (my car is Toyota Yaris with racing rims,not the mountain type of car). After we passed the test..we finally arrived in the villa..

After we had the time off after lunch,Mba Maya and Mba Leony announced that we will doing some games during the afternoon,the 1st game was an individual game. We were given a paper with our name in it at it would stick on our back,and each participants got a pen with them,the game is to write down your opinion about a person on that person's back but you have to run and catch them so that you can write down your answer.

the point of this game is to know what people think about your character and also to make participants feel closer to another. 2nd Game,was a team game,I was in Team #3 together with Zara,Tante Rey and Shinta. The game is called "Straw House", the game is simple, each team just have to built the most unique and strongest house,and at the end the house will be tested by other teams by blowing winds using newspaper.

Move on to next game,this was called LINE IT UP! (just made that up),so each team have to make a random line,then the MC will give you this instruction to arrange line based on some categories,for example birthday date,and other categories. The highlight of the game was when Mas Pendi tried to play us with his birthday month,hahaha and then he got caught up! hiaha.my team won this game wohoo!

Finished game number 2,we continued to the game #4,this is where each team have to lined up and far from the line,there were these clothing accessories from glasses,hats,shades and sleeves. The last person from the team then have to perform the clothing through the "runway". In the middle of the game,Shinta slipped and fell on the steps. It just stopped raining at that time,which made the grass wet and the steps slippery. Thanks God she's okey.. :D,and my team won the first place for this game.

The last game was this obstacles game,the rule is each group will be represented by one of their member,the person's eyes will be closed,and the other members will help this person to passed the obstacles ahead. BUT! at the end,none of the participants played,we asked for the MCs to play haha..so Maya and Mba Leony played the game and we just cheering from the sideline..

soo,that's for the first part..I'll continue to post it later for the afternoon and night part..its wild!

Performing With Jakarta Broadway Team - April 17th 2011

Hello there,how you doing?
so i just want to share about my latest gig which was on 17th of April 2011 with Jakarta Broadway Team for We Dance,We Sing,We Glee Competition at Pacific Place, Jakarta.

The story was quite interesting,here we go..
It was the first week of April,and Jakarta Broadway Team (JBT) manager Alicia Kosasih contacted me and asked me if I can perform as the rapper for JBT on 16th and 17th of April, and without a doubt I said yesss!! its JBT and it will be a great experience to be able to perform with big band and dancers with all the scenario behind each songs.

Buuut,two days after Alicia asked me about the JBT gig, Ferdi (Soulflou's Synth Player) told me that Soulflou's demo was accepted for an event in Universitas Indonesia. Since its been a while since we perform, I took a decision to cancel my gig with JBT.

Suddenly, on 11th of April, the committee of UI's event postponed their event,and left me kind of confused,but i decided to just let the JBT gig to passed,because I know they would have the playlist already and having me back on their plan will ruin the whole process.

Alhamdulillah,Alicia then contacted me again,asked me if I can do the 17th performance,and for the second time i answered "YES". On April 15th I went to the rehearsal at BepBop Music Studio at Tebet,when I arrived there i just figured out that the studio has 3 different rooms and located in different houses. JBT was in studio A, and the first thing that attracted me was the sneakers outside the studio,the Supras and Reeboks make me wondered what the rehearsal gonna be.

As I enter the studio, I saw some of BagBeat's players (I'll post it later about Bagbeat) and also other friends. When I look to the left side of the studio, I saw these dancers practicing their moves for the songs. Nervous?? YESS! these people are serious musician and dancers, so I got to keep up with their performance. I sat near Haris and Aldhi,and just joking around before they start to play the playlist and after the song "Italiano", Ian played the intro for "Beggin" from Madcon, and its time for me to step up to my mic, working with 2 other vocalists Tobing and Hans. When Aldhi started to hit that drums, i got to start to spit my lines

But I planted my seed so let me go,
I'm on my knees and I'm beggin..
Cos I don't want to loose youu..
I arms so spread,I hope that my heart got fed matter fact I'm beggin.."

After two rounds of rehearsal,its time to go home,I caught flu at that time,so I came home,drink a tablet of decolgen, and went to sleep.

17th April 2011,I woke up from Aldhi's sofa, because I sleep over at his crib since the checksound ended at 01.00 am,so i went to his house and sleep for a while. I met Aldhi's father and talked about the current style of clothing that actually not so different with the 80's,faded jean and colorful sneakers,while we watching Dahsyat. At 10.00 am i went home and preparing for the performance,my parents came to see me perform together with my brother so I really excited to sang in front of them.

Got my white shirt on,my red sneaks on,and I'm good to go. As I arrived at Pacific Place,I met my family,its been 3 weeks since my parents come to Jakarta,so I missed them so much. Together we went to the venue,watching the participants of the competition. First impression was WOW by the dance performance by Alicia and other judges,the movement was dope! and i'm lookin forward to learn some of the moves from her haha :D. After that,we saw the particpants, I met one person from XO crew,this dude was crazy with his poppin skill back in GET BOUNCE Competition (next post hehe).

So after 7 performances by the participants, now its time for JBT to show what we got. Hittin with the big hit,the crowd went crazy,and after the song Bend and Snap,its time for me to do my job..

kind of slipped my words,but still got it covered haha..
at the end, I met my senior from my university Grace,she used to be the president of Bina Nusantara Musician Club (BIMUS) where I was the Event Organizer and we used to work hard to plan shows for BIMUS

the final prize was whenI met my parents and my brother,and looking their smiles is just priceless..

and realized that my talent and all that I have are all gifts from Allah S.W.T,so its always a blessing to do what I enjoy for the thing that I love,and doing this to entertain people.

SOULFLOU

Back again to my blog..
and now i will share about what i doing now.
I am now registered as a master student at one of private university here in Jakarta, but I am still doing my other jobs as vocalist and other things (i will post it later).

The picture above is my band SOULFLOU. Formed in 2008, we (back there was only 5 of us) consist of me,Ferdi (guitar),Ryan (Vocal), Oky Saimima (Bass) and Edgar Kharismaldi (drummer),started just to filled up an empty schedule for Binus English Competition.

We just keep playing on our campus events,until Edgar and Okky left abroad for their academic purposes. Even though they both left, me, Ryan, and Ferdi, still thinking about making SOULFLOU a firm band. Then we asked Febby a.k.a Visual Groove, Oky Mauludany from BlackFire, and Ronnie Irawan to join SOULFLOU. Now we are in the process of making our own songs, giving a different taste of each members about music, different perspective but one dream to achieve, which is to deliver a "fresh to death" music with crazy elements in it.

I used to have a band called Calibers,bringin tunes from RATM,Sevendust,and many more, but since each member has their own things to do,we then break out and makin our own way. Now he's the guitarist of NO TALENT,and this band is on its way to the top.

Bringin his own style on each performance..i guess this brother gonna make his own stand among guitarists on his age..

Welcome again viewers, first of all, let me introduce you to my new SoulShutter logo..as suggested by my brother DSU.

So this was a really freestyle concept,i'm listening to Jay-Z's Empire State of Mind, and suddenly i pictured Nadia (click here for her profile), which is my campus mate,neighbor,basketball mates wearin her favorite style and sneakers. So i texted her, and i said "Yo nad,i got this concept, let's go around Jakarta and shot some photos", she said yes and we go straight to Sarinah and Taman Menteng.
We talked about the concept,so i divided this into black and white for Sarinah setting and colour for the Taman Menteng setting. Alhamdulillah we got these photos together.

at Thursday night,i checked out my friend Ferdi's and Ryan's tweet about this event in Rolling Stone Indonesia. It was a free music event for celebrating the launching of LangitMusik.com, a local music portal. The artists line up: ShaggyDog,Blackout,Mike's Apartment,Endah'NResa,The Cash and T.R.I.A.D. I've never been to live performance of Shaggydogg,so i went there and these are the photos from the event.

First on the stage Endah 'N Ressa at the pool stage. They really gave a new kind of acoustic excitement. and the moment they sang "In The Jungle",haha that's great,the crowd followed them singing AMIMAWE..AMIMAWEE =D. visit their Myspace (http://www.my spa ce.com/endahnrhesa)

Next on the main stage. BLACKOUT. It is a new band bringing old school kind of rock music. The vocalist's energy was really high, me and the other crowds really impressed on how he brought his soul through the songs. NICE! their myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/blackoutindonesia)

Next performer was Royal Ego,new band that features Eno 'Netral', Ernes 'Cokelat', Saint Loco's bass player Gilbert, and Hendra bringing rock music energy to the stage. Visit their Myspace (www.myspace.com/royalego)

The next performer,the legendary Indonesian Ska band,Shaggy Dog,straight from Jogjakarta,finally i can watched them perform.i had to stepped back from the crowd coz the 'Doggies' (the name for their fans) dance little bit extreme. visit (http://www.myspace.com/jogjad awgz)
THE CASH!,this was maybe what people were waiting for that night. Consist of three comedian/musicians Tora Sudiro,Vincent Rompies,and Desta. Bringing punk rock,with some jokes,they really entertained us.

For me,their love story is amazing.
They met on a train,on their way to their office. After My brother met her,he always used train to go to work. Later he found out that she lived nearby our house.
Now they have Agung Jr. a.k.a Andra,my lovely nephew.

Fortune,age,and our life mate were already written on the stone by Allah S.W.T
we just have to work and pray that they will come on the right time.

Meet my eldest brother Agung

He is the one who is responsible for influenced me and my elder brother about Hip-hop and rap. Back in 1996,he and DSU used to listen to this Friday jam mix on Prambors radio. It played mix hip-hop tune. Since then,me and my elder brother started to like hip-hop,rap,soul music as well. Back in the day,we listen to 2pac,Snoop Dogg,Cypress Hill,Public Enemies, etc. As we grow older, three of us still listen to these genre.

these hobbies are the things that i really passionate for.
So i will share my hobbies here in my blog.

I started my photography hobby back in 2006. My elder brother introduced me to photography.My mom also like to take photos,she used to use this old Fugica camera to take pictures, and then she changed to Canon in 1996.She tought me and my brother how to take picture,composition,lighting,angle,etc.

started his photography hobby,using Lumix FZ-20, he started to take various photos and joined Fotografer.net community. He asked me whether i am interested to follow his footstep,and i said YES!. In Ramadhan 2006,my brother and my mom bought me a camera, it was Canon G-5. And from that moment i start to take photos.

In Ramadhan 2007,i was thinking to sell my G-5 and start to use DSLR camera. After a long discussion (because the camera's price was high at that time), my and my brother decided to sell my G-5 and bought Canon 400D.

It's been 2 years now,and i still use my 400D, even there are so many new models,but i just not satisfied yet with my photos,so i still keep it.
